They don't see themselves well due to their other-directed self-image orientation. I tend to have something on hand so I can escape if needed. When the desire for clarity and the desire to avoid weakness conflict the six will choose for former and the eight the latter. Sevens are more future-oriented and fours are past-oriented. They don't see any hypocrisy since they are all about goodwill and open with their shortcomings.
Sixes being reactive types find it much harder to shield their annoyance from others. Unlike fives the way ones are rational is tied to self-control. Around my friends I will be warm, kind, inspirational, helpful and frank. This combined with confusing who they are with what they do can cause more superficial threes to confuse style with substance. To a certain extent, they believe themselves to be superior and different from others - misunderstood but brilliant.
I don't have loyalty to institutions or groups, including my parental family. Again, if these scores are to be trusted tests aren't always that precise , then your tritype should be 5-9-2. They feel if they keep moving and anticipating they can stay one step ahead of being bogged down by all that. Finding the Enneagram and My Type This led me to check internet forums like Personality Cafe and 16types, and through them I discovered Enneagram. Your Enneagram core type is like a home base from which we make sense of individuation, integration and development.
I can definitely relate to this, can you? The 5w4 inner landscape has a certain richness that's both a blessing and a curse. Visceral is a good way of putting it. Due to their primary instinctive center ones focus on living out their convictions and neglect to use their tiertary thinking center when it calculates an exception to the rules. They avoid conflict externally and the reality of that conflict internally. Twos despite being other-directed are really creating and meeting their own expectations. Or are you less like yourself? I'm 5w4 and strongly identify with both descriptions, but I studied the types, not the wings, and found that on a default level I am five. They think things are under control if they know enough.
I tested as a 4 but I can definitely relate to some of the above mentioned subject matter. The 5w6 actively pursues its own interests, often in the hopes of finding others who share them. The fulfillment of these wishes may loom primarily as a burden and in fact would sabotage the one wish he does have--that of not being bothered. The first, now somewhat discredited, is called the Categorical view, which gives you a list of symptoms for each disorder. They trust either too little or too much, rarely just right. They are unwilling to be controlled in any way.
They have the ability to stay hopeful as well as level-headed and calm during a real crisis. That last bit is of course not true in all cases, though I do believe it conveys the message correctly. It is therefore unsurprising that Fives are constantly seeking and scheming to carve out more time for themselves. Because they are instinctive center last it is easy for fives to become ungrounded and spin out of control. Behind their distant exterior often lurks feelings threatening to overwhelm them. Sixes are known in part for their loyalty to certain conventions or authorities.
Type 4 Image Triad Fours are image types who primarily identify with their feelings. Once they're out of the rut everything will be back to normal so no big deal. How sixes cope ranges from avoidance phobic to aggressively facing their fears head on counterphobic. While they are proud to assist others without fanfare they still resent not being given their due. They like others having strings attached to them as it gives them a veiled form of control. What you need to do now is order them according to their prevalence in your personality.
They feel emotions most deeply when they leave them behind as if to finally give them a proper burial after a long period of neglect. There is a process of gradual solidification to their reasoning that makes them natural synthesizers of what they take into account. A person may be understood, therefore, to have a core type and one or two wing types which influence but do not change the core type. I am very human-oriented, just don't really like each individual human as they are. They are more wary and guarded as well as more cynical and sarcastic. They are naturally confident enough to not need to prove their strength to others or themselves. They tend to have more mercurial life patterns.
While they are more restrained and appropriate they are also more fiercely independent. On the flip side this lack of an identity makes them prone to self-neglect and introjecting aspects of others without them realizing it. They are moody and self-absorbed as well as very sensitive. When they see innocent people getting the shaft it makes them very angry. So I have stopped writing. Something that's intuitive and makes sense is a dime a dozen that can only pale in comparison. It seemed to fit me almost perfectly--especially the fear of being overwhelmed by the world, of not being capable of participating in the real world.
When the fiveish desire to withdraw and sort things out is no longer compulsive, then the consciously chosen time alone becomes a tool for understanding the world, rather than an entrapping habit. They tend to be less argumentative than 5w6s and would rather be convinced than convince others. They are the more childlike side of seven. In addition, the 5w6 often has more interest in fitting into social groups due to 6 influence. Wants are reframed as needs and real inner needs are neglected.
